2022 Bartl Chardonnay

"This is such a fluid chardonnay. It’s juicy, long and lingering, with pear drop, barley, cooked apple and grapefruit flavours arriving with inscriptions of chalk and apple pips. It has a minerally firmness to it but it’s also alive with succulent fruit. It’s three years old but it’s still building; it’s not lean but nor is it full-bodied. It is though harmonious and long, not to mention characterful. It may well need another 3-4 years but this will be sensational when it hits its peak." Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, 94+ points
